Dataoorts FAQs

1. What is GC2 Instances ?

GC2 Instances are development cloud instances that are fast, light weight and comes pre-configured with DMI, so you can start working on your project right away without any hassle.

1.1 What is X-Series Instances ?

X-Series Instances, operating on our new advanced Super DDRA cluster, Are optimized for compute-intensive workloads, making them ideal for tasks such as fine-tuning and training large AI models.

2. What is DMI ?

DMI stands for Dataoorts Machine Image. It’s the base snapshot image used by instances before spinning up, and you have the flexibility to choose your preferred DMI according to your needs before spinning up the instances.

3. Do we provide Serverless Cloud ?

Yes, At Dataoorts AI we offer API access to top open-source AI models at the most affordable rates. Learn more about model inference, pricing, and other details Here.

4. Does Dataoorts provides on demand pricing ?

Yes. We do provide on-demand pricing as well as reservation too.

5. What types of GPU Instances we can access in Dataoorts ?

We’re continuously adding multiple GPU types of instances. You can check the current GPU type instances on the platform, for example, t4-16-1. This means the instance has one T4 GPU with 16 GB of GPU memory. Similarly, in the near future, as per demand, we will add multiple GPUs per instance”h100-80-8″.

6. What is DDRA ?

Advanced GPU Virtualization Technology, Learn More About DDRA Here.

7. How can we access our Instances ?

You can access your instance using password based SSH. After that, you can modify the configs to your preferred method of access.

8. Do We Have Root/Sudo Access to Instances ?

Yes, you have root-level access to your instances, and your instances are virtualized via DDRA. We provide instances for learning, training, and performing other industry-level tasks. We have an intelligent system to monitor the instances from outside, and if we find any suspicious activity that could be harmful, such as bypassing your instance security or any other thing, We may block your access. Further actions may be taken. You can read more about it here.

9. Can we continuously utilize GPU compute resources at 100% throttle ?

For GC2 instances, the answer is No, while for X-Series instances, it’s Yes. Our instances utilize DDRA technology, running on a continuously expanding large GPU cluster. GPU compute memory and threads are dynamically allocated to the highest-priority user. However, we reserve approximately 50% of GPU resources, memory, and threads for each instance. As a result, even when running your GPU instances at full throttle, you can typically utilize 70% to 80% of the available GPU power.

10. How many vCPU cores, vRAM, and storage volume do we have in our instances ?

It depends on the specific instance type. Currently, we provide storage as follows: for instances with below 20 GB of GPU memory, the storage is 50 GB; for instances with 20-50 GB of GPU memory, the storage is 60 GB; and for instances with 60-100 GB of GPU memory, the storage is 80 GB. The amount of vRAM and vCPU you will receive varies and is difficult to foretell. However, rest assured that you will have more than enough resources to perform any AI/ML task.

11. What are platform fees and service charges?

It’s completely free, We don’t charge any platform or service fees.

12. Are the prices inc. or exc. of taxes?

All prices and costs include taxes, so you won’t need to pay anything extra. You get the full amount you top up. If you’re outside of India, a very small currency conversion fee is charged by the payment gateway. If you’re in India, you won’t need to pay this fee.

13. How are payments handled ?

We use Cashfree and Cryptomus to ensure secure payments. You can pay via UPI or PayPal, and for credit/debit card payments, you can choose PayPal—no account is required. We also accept net banking, cryptocurrency payments, and bank transfers, providing a seamless and flexible transaction process.

14. What is the refund policy ?

We do not offer refunds, as GPU resources are costly and allocated upon purchase. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to review your selection carefully before completing the transaction. If you have any concerns, feel free to reach out to our support team at [email protected].

15. How we can create our own template ?

Our GPU instances come with DMI images, all pre-configured with Docker and many more AI modules, allowing you to create or pull multiple templates effortlessly within a single instance.

16. Do you offer a free trial ?

We do not offer a free trial, but you can get started with as little as $10. Our pay-as-you-go model ensures that you only pay for the GPU resources you rent and use.

17. What happens when I delete/terminate my instance ?

Deletion is permanent, and data cannot be recovered. After deletion, no further charges apply.

18. How is my data protected ?

Your rented GPU instances run in isolated environments with private networking, ensuring proper data isolation and security.

19. Do you offer an option for GPU cluster booking ?

Yes, you can book a GPU clusters Here.

20. Do you provide API access for all services ?

Yes, we offer API access to all our services. You can get your cloud instance operation API Here, the serverless API Here, and find the documentation Here.

21. What is the threshold balance limit ?

The threshold balance is $2.5 for GPU Cloud and $0.30 for Serverless Cloud. If your balance falls below this amount, you will receive a notification beforehand, and your instances may be automatically terminated shortly after. Please ensure sufficient balance credits to continue using our services.

22. What if a specific instance type is unavailable or in use ?

If your desired instance type is currently unavailable, you can wait and try again later. However, we offer a wide range of GPU instances at highly affordable rates. You can explore and spin up a different GPU instance with similar or better resources to meet your needs seamlessly.

23. What is the minimum balance required to launch an instance?

To spin up an instance, your balance must meet two conditions:

  1. Cover at least one hour of runtime – Your balance should be enough to sustain the instance for at least one hour, based on its maximum price.
  2. Be above the threshold limit – Your balance should be greater than the set threshold to avoid any interruptions.

This ensures a smooth experience without unexpected terminations. If your balance is low, we recommend topping up in advance to keep your instances running without issues.

24. Which regions do you support for GPU rentals ?

We provide GPU instance rentals and serverless services globally, with our headquarters based in Prayagraj, India.
